What’s New at Chillplate: Moving to WordPress & Introducing Our New Alloy & Copper Editions!

Hey everyone! It’s been a busy few weeks behind the scenes at Chillplate, and we’re excited to share some major updates with you today—from a brand-new website setup to fresh materials that take cooling performance even further.

1. We’ve Moved: Goodbye Shopify, Hello WordPress!

To give you a better browsing experience and more flexibility, we have officially migrated the Chillplate storefront from Shopify to WordPress!

  • Built-in Order & Logistics Tracking: You can now easily track your shipment directly on our website after placing an order.
  • A Quick Real Talk: Since the new tracking feature just launched, the shipping lookup page might feel a tiny bit laggy at times (hahaha bear with us!). We’re actively fine-tuning the plugins and server setup to make it buttery smooth, so thank you for your patience while we tweak things!

2. Brand New Materials: Higher Thermal Conductivity & Capacity

While our original aluminum plates have been a fan favorite, we wanted to take passive cooling to the next level. Today, we’re introducing our all-new Aluminum-Copper Alloy and Pure Copper editions!

Compared to standard aluminum, these new materials offer significantly higher thermal conductivity and greater thermal mass (heat capacity). They pull heat away from the chip faster during heavy spikes and provide a stronger buffer against thermal throttling—all while remaining incredibly lightweight.

New Product Lineup:

  1. Chillplate for Air – Aluminum-Copper Alloy (33g)
    • The featherweight all-rounder. Combines the lightness of aluminum with the rapid heat transfer of copper. At just 33 grams, you won’t even notice it’s there.
  2. Chillplate for Air – Pure Copper Edition (86g)
    • The ultimate performance pick. Delivers maximum heat capacity and conductivity. Weighing in at 86 grams, it’s built for users who push their Mac to its absolute limits.
  3. Chillplate for Neo – Aluminum-Copper Alloy (23g)
    • Tailor-made for MacBook Neo. An ultra-light 23g design engineered to give the compact chassis maximum thermal relief.

Supported models: MacBook Air 13″ & 15″ (M2, M3, M4, M5 chips) and MacBook Neo.

3. Why Chillplate?

People buy a MacBook Air or MacBook Neo because it’s thin, light, and easy to carry everywhere. Any cooling solution that adds bulk, cables, or extra gear works against that. Chillplate was designed to add as little as possible.

One Piece, Nothing to Assemble

Chillplate is a single, ultra-thin unit. There are no brackets, clips, screws, or separate parts to keep track of.It’s CNC-machined to fit the internal layout precisely and sits between the motherboard and the bottom case (the “D-shell”). One piece also means fewer things that can loosen, rattle, or shift over time.

Zero Bulk, Zero Trace

Because Chillplate lives inside the case, your MacBook looks and feels exactly the same as before:

  • No stand or pad taking up space on your desk.
  • No clip-on fan hanging off the edge.
  • No cables or dongles taking up a port.
  • No extra gear weighing down your bag.

Close the lid, slide it into your bag, and go—just like before.

4. Chillplate vs. External Coolers

Final Thoughts

The best upgrade is one you don’t notice until the workload gets heavy. Chillplate stays out of sight and out of your bag, while keeping your MacBook running cooler under real-world pressure.
